A2 in the Integration Course: DTZ as Alternative
The German Test for Immigrants (DTZ) is a scaled exam at levels A2-B1. Those who don't reach B1 receive the A2 certificate - a recognized proof for the residence permit.
Result A2
Sufficient for extending the residence permit. Retaking the DTZ or taking a separate A2 exam is possible.
Result B1
Fulfills the language requirement for the settlement permit and naturalization.
A2 Grammar: The Most Important Topics
Perfect tense
Past with haben/sein: 'Ich habe gegessen', 'Sie ist gefahren'
Modal verbs
können, müssen, wollen, sollen, dürfen - meaning & conjugation
Dative case
Dative after verbs (helfen, geben) and prepositions (mit, bei, zu)
Subordinate clauses
weil, dass, wenn - verb at the end: 'Ich lerne, weil ich die Prüfung bestehen will.'
